The purpose of the Rock Ledge School Student Council is to help students develop and enhance their leadership skills, while giving them a voice in what happens at their school. There are approximately 24 students in grades 4 and 5 who participate as classroom representatives. Students meet on a monthly basis to decide on events that they, and their fellow students, would like to participate in.
The Student Council organizes and participates in many events at Rock Ledge Intermediate School. The Student Council "Giving Tree' collects bathroom supplies, clothes, and food during the Holiday season to donate to for local families through Community 2000. Small donations are provided to Heavenly Hats, Pennies for Patients, Seymour Community Museum, and other organizations.
Student Council students organize school spirit events such as Twin Day, Crazy Hair Day, and Rock Star Day, just to name a few. The annual ‘Sucker Sale’ is an exciting time for kids to purchase suckers and help support Student Council initiatives.
Student Council is a fun, learning experience that helps to develop necessary life-long skills in our students.
